The Gilbert Public Schools athletics program is comprised of five high schools, five junior high schools and one academy which is a combined junior high and high school. We offer many different sporting opportunities for high school and junior high school students, with great success in all areas. Please come and support our student-athletes.

Charter Schools

Charter school students are not eligible to participate in athletics for any other school. They are only eligible at the school they attend. If the sport is not offered at their school, they are still not eligible to participate at any other school. This is an Arizona Interscholastic Association Bylaw.

Age Limit

If a student becomes 19 years of age after September 1st, they are eligible to compete for the remainder of the school year. A student athlete is only eligible for eight semesters from the time of enrollment in the 9th grade. The 7th and 8th semesters must be consecutive.

Gilbert Youth Athletics

Gilbert Youth Athletics is committed to providing top-tier coaching, utilizing elite facilities, and focusing on the overall development of each student-athlete starting in elementary school and junior high. It is our belief that great athletes must develop fundamental skills at a young age which prepares them for a future of success as they progress through high school and college programs.

Our slogan of Two Steps Ahead comes from the promise to our community that we provide an unparalleled program in terms of coaching, facilities, and competition with an emphasis on character and sportsmanship while having fun. With player development being the focus we are able to identify the playing ability of all athletes and begin a structured approach to facilitate growth. All coaches are Gilbert Public Schools employees, with many currently being on a junior high or high school coaching staff.
